"Congreve Clock"
Bill Turner

The Congreve clock was invented by Sir William Congreve in the 19th Century. Timekeeping is controlled by the time it takes a steel ball to roll down a track and release the mechanism. Although Congreve intended it as a serious precision clock, they are generally poor timekeepers, but popular because of their visual appeal.
